This is an overview of a classroom literacy project where students used iPads to create their own Digital Documentary.

This is interesting until it reached the point where the teacher talked about the technology and the skills needed. We have move away from talking about the technology but talking about the learning that is taking place. However, there is great conversation about the writing process using the technology.

iPads in schools are growing leaps and bounds. Even in South Carolina, the Lexington School District I will be distributing High School Students iPads this month. iPads Expected to Outnumber Computers in Schools Within 5 Years | PadGadget tells us that within five years, a survey of 25 technology directors in 25 U.S. school districets reveals that their will be more tablets per student than computers – a total of one iPad per six students, compared to the current 10 students per computer. The iPad allows for a tailored, individualized learning experience that is harder to provide with a computer.
A recent survey of 25 technology directors in U.S. school districts revealed that every single one was testing or using the iPad in schools.
Are our schools prepared for such transformations? What implications will this have on school leaders and teachers?
